At the end of July we sadly had to say goodbye to Francesco, as he returned  to Italy. We are very grateful for all he has done at Newland in the past year, and we wish him the very best for the future.

We are now delighted to welcome Candice Myers to our team, to join us on Monday and Friday mornings.

Candice chose to make a change of career back in 2004, from the world of finance to Chiropractic, after having seen amazing results on a horse after having chiropractic, and then receiving chiropractic treatment herself whilst studying yoga in India.

For as long as she can remember she has always been interested in understanding the human body and what causes ‘dysfunction’ – why do some people suffer debilitating migraines, for example and why do hips or knees wear unevenly? This began with studying anatomy and physiology, yoga, sports massage, acupressure and finally a five year Chiropractic Degree.

Chiropractic is not just about pain relief but about improving nervous system function by removing stressors and uncovering areas which may be contributing to health concerns. You should not have to wait until something has gone wrong and then put it down to ‘growing old’ or wait until it has “gone away by itself” or until all pain relief options have been exhausted.

Candice enjoys working with all ages and backgrounds of patients, from brand-new babies to the very elderly and draws from a variety of techniques including Diversified, Activator, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Neuro-impulse Protocol (NIP) and Afferent Input (Proprioceptive Medicine) to do this. Many of these methods can be very gentle and effective.

During University Candice completed a dissertation on Paediatric Headache which led to co-authoring an article in the Journal of Manipulative Therapeutics (JMPT) on Infantile Headache, in 2009.
