Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Lauren gained a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree from the University of Lincoln in 2006. Lauren’s initial psychological training lead her into educational psychology and following graduation she worked in varying roles within central schools in Lincolnshire.
After Lauren developed back pain in her early 20’s, a visit to a chiropractor was to give her a new passion and changed her career plans indefinitely. Instead of continuing onto gaining an educational psychology doctorate, Lauren re-trained as a chiropractor. A decision she notes as one of the best she has ever made! Her two degrees allow her to assess the physical factors of health, function, and pain along with the psychological, social, emotional and behavioural influences in order to give an integrated health care approach.
Additionally, Lauren has a keen interest in dry needling and considers this therapy an excellent addition to chiropractic care. She enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions but is particularly interested in acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and low back pain in the general population.
Lauren is currently working part-time at Newland as she is also a busy mum with two young children. In her “spare” time, you will find her with her family and friends enjoying time together and travelling. She also practices somatic exercises and yoga to keep herself in shape. Lauren is an advocate of mental health awareness and practices mindfulness and meditation.
