I was in Amsterdam for three days over the weekend studying neuroscience. The most interesting new research we were exposed to (all referenced in 2011) concerned the chemical changes that occur in the brain as a result of a concussion and how this can be more severe if the concussion happened while the individual had a mild infection or chronic inflammation.
