Reading is a complex process, no single intervention has been shown to help every child with reading difficulties.

Here is an overview of what needs to work in order to read well:

1) Vision

If a child can’t see clearly the information of the page won’t reach the brain accurately or doing so will require more effort, this is easily detected with an eye test at your local optician.

2) Eye movement – Convergence

Both eyes should move towards the nose and both pupils should accommodate (adjust the lens)to focus on text nearer than about 30cm away
